Stew with white cabbage, Cumberland sausage, potato, turnip and carrot

A truly wintery dish which is really easy to make and comforting to eat. For this recipe, I decided to use the pressure cooker in order to speed up the cooking time. The slight touch of honey and the soya cream added at the end of the recipe add a creamy aspect of the full recipe.

What do you need?

  • ½ white cabbage
  • 4 Cumberland sausage
  • 250 g of potatoes
  • 250 g of turnips
  • 250 g of carrots
  • 2 vegetable stock
  • 2 tablespoons of honey
  • 6 tablespoons of soya cream

How to make a Stew with white cabbage, Cumberland sausage, potato, turnip, and carrot?

  • Start by washing carefully all the vegetables
  • In a pressure cooker, cook the Cumberland sausage with a little bit of oil (without lid) for 5 minutes
  • Peel the potatoes, turnips, and carrots and make some square pieces of it
  • Slice the cabbage
  • Remove the Cumberland sausage from the pressure cooker and slices them
  • Add in the pressure cooker, the potatoes, turnip, and carrots pieces and stir them for a couple of minutes (without lid)
  • Then add the sliced cabbage and the cooked and sliced sausages
  • Add the vegetable stock
  • And cover it all with boiling water and add the honey
  • Close the pressure cooker and then leave it to cook for 10/15 minutes after the steam is on
  • Serve it drained with black pepper, parsley on top and soya cream
